MIKE JONES: Blogger

Jones-Mike-EurekaMaybe he was joking, but sources say Eureka City Councilman Mike Jones announced Tuesday that he was thinking of starting a blog.

Jones recently dipped his toes in the Humboldt blogosphere by leaving a comment on the Humboldt Herald.  Jones noted his absence at the cell tower ordinance meeting was totally innocent.  In short, the fire under his keister to git r done is issue non grata.

And seeing how Jones is a busy juggling both career and council duties, we suggest he start with a Twitter account.  Twitter’s built-in limit of 140 characters would help Jones impart short but important points to the masses without relying on city manager Dave Tyson.

Arcata City Councilwoman Alex Stillman is on Twitter.  Perhaps Jones should ask her about it.

Nobody needs twitter in Eureka. Just ask your neighbor “what’s new?”…

  2. In a New Yorker cartoon, two dogs are talking to each other and one says …

I used to blog, but now I just bark incessantly.

Sounds like a notification system after Kevin Hamblin’s own heart.

Jones and Stillman are equally arrogant, aloof and totally unconcerned with what the public thinks of the favors they do for their yuppie pals.

Goes to show you how little the fake left-right paradigm really means when you still wind up with pro-cop thugs who suck up to the developers either way.

Much better picture, thanks. With years of experience starting rumors, ala the good ole days of broadcasting, this one is not that cold, or hard to follow. Thanks again for the plug. Easy of the plug part!
PS. Twitter?! I hardly hve enough time for this and Facebook. Now there’s a hoot!
PSSSSS. I do find the notification feature very helpful too.

Still hung-up on the folks outside the 300 foot radius? Give it a rest, the notices were mailed.

They’re baaaack. The city is getting ready to waive the law and issue a conditional use permit for a cell tower at the Jews for Jesus Church at 17th and J in Eureka. Notification is in today’s T-S.

  13. average Eurekan says:

    Where in the T-S?

  14. average Eurekan says:

Okay, I found it. Buried on page D5. I missed it on my first run-thru of the paper.

Are the yellow notification signs up over at the Hebrew Christian church?

OK all you NIMBYS…start crying that the cell
tower will be so bad for everyone…

Sorry for our concern for our neighborhoods. I know that’s really out of line in your view.

    We apologize.

  18. Mike Jones says:

So, after this many inputs, that’s all there is? I guess Lewis Black had it right after all. HOPE?

The bell tower looks pretty ugly. I think we should circulate a petition requiring Verizon to cover it with English Ivy.

  20. mayfly says:

No English ivy, puh-lease. it’s already rampant in Sequoia Park…

  21. mresquan says:

How about a nice big statue of Mike Jones?
