Happy birthday to us
Happy birthday to us
Happy blogiversary to uh-us
Happy 3 years of merrily blogging to us!
Where does the time go? The Humboldt Herald is getting so old we nearly forgot that today is our special day. Thanks for all the good times. May we have many more.

Wow, I could be the first to wish you a Happy Birthday, what timing. And I was just thinking of this whole blog. We could have had the same birthday, thing! WOW!
To celebrate at your party, I’ll bring some fine spray can Nacho Cheeze along with a case of Hormel Luncheon Meat and some bags of Cool Ranch Doritos…Oh, and a couple of liters of Mountain Dew Code Red. It’s the least I can do to honor such a pivotal occasion. Now, where exactly do you live? The Carson Park Ranger’s handwriting is smudged on this wrinkled Winco coupon.
I predict bigger & better things for The Humboldt Herald. As the Times Standard lays off more reporters & becomes even less a news reporting paper, we often have to turn to you to learn whats going on locally.
OK. It’s now clear why H was so negative this last year toward CPR, Humboldt Sunshine, HELP, Security National, Verizon. It wasn’t principled opposition to exploitation and tyranny. It was just a symptom of the “terrible twos”.
Now, as a mature three year older, will H. transform and finally accept “parental guidance” from established authorities?
Has it really been three years, H? I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Seriously. I’d like to treat you to a hunting trip. We’ll fly to Wyoming, where my friend, Dick, has a ranch. Skype me soon, H.
I almost said something about the last blogger, oh yeah, RA, so, here it is. JWH, this thing is getting kind of “water’d down” if you don’t mind my saying so. J, no offense, cause that used to mean something back in the “erra”, cause we drank ( smoked ) out of the same “bowl”, what do they call that, an “insider joke”?
PS. The hardest thing to believe is, it really is me, the guy with the name on this. ( sorry, Chris, there must be a full moon, and I am barking at it as we speak. Actually, it’s less than half full after what I saw last night. ) Oh, yeah, I refuse to bark at it, since I saw a glimpse of “Wolfe” today with Jack, as in NICKOLSON! Da Man!,
“Thank you for all the hours and hours it requires to produce and maintain the Herald. Your online civility is an inspiration to most of us…”
I anonymously submit the copied and pasted words above in thanks to Heraldo for making the copy-and-paste feature available to me on this, the third anniversary of the Humboldt Herald.
As a blogger myself, I think the best thing about my blog is the things that I have learned from the commenters. What would you say has been the most rewarding aspect of your blog?
What would you say has been the most rewarding aspect of your blog?
That’s a tough one. It’s rewarding to create and host a forum for community dialogue about local issues. The blog post is just the beginning of the conversation.
I’ve learned many things from the Humboldt Herald. One that stands out is that people often read their own pre-conceived notions into a post or comment. Myself included.
I appreciate that people of different views and opinions come here to discuss and argue the news of the day. Sometimes they even come back with kind words after vehement disagreement, like my friend J Warren here. Times like this bring home the fact that all of us are looking to steer Humboldt in the best direction, even if we disagree on what that might be.
The thing that stands out is the sincerity of the posters on all sides of the issues. Some of us may at times go overboard or be more or less informed on whatever we’re posting about- but we sure mean it from the bottoms of our hearts, don’t we? Happy Birthday Heraldo.
I’ve also enjoyed every minute and would like to treat you to a free prayer breakfast with my good friend Sara Palin. Then we’ll go polar bear hunting in my private helicopter.
three years of stupidity, misinformation, lies, cowardice, laziness and self-promoting tripe. Toss in a total lack of ethics, no morals to speak of… and always some “clever” response to people who have the “audacity” to dare criticize.
Bottom line: YOUR BLOG SUCKS.
No response necessary. Go ahead and delete this, i’m happy just knowing at least someone had the balls to speak the truth.
Happy birthday, dear fill-in-the-blanks! You’ve discovered the secret of staying fresh, and immortality.
We call it the fountain of Heraldo.

It’s fate, Mike. Eric Kirk’s blogiversery is right about now, too. Join us.
Thanks for keeping things interesting!
Here’s to many more :)
It’s my birthday too. Good wishes all around!
Happy Birthday to the blog that has it all!
It’s my little girl’s birthday too! She’s 6. Giant party over here.
H, I might throw your name in there during the Happy Birthday song.
3 more years! 3 more years!

Winco parking lot, 2 am tonight! Bring your 40′s!
Oh yeah. I guess that means my anniversary is somewhere around now as well.

If Ekovox brings all of that other stuff, then I will bring the Necco Wafers.

I can see a love story developing at the Herald this year…..Happy B-day H!!
Thank you for all the hours and hours it requires to produce and maintain the Herald. Your online civility is an inspiration to most of us…
may you have many more!
until someone outs you, and you humbly resign.
Congratulations! The Herald is one the great Humboldt blogs.
May there be many, many more years of posts to keep us all informed.
Where’s the cake?
Congratulations H
You keep it lively. And it needs to be lively. Thanks for that.
As I told you some time before, the world of communication is a better place with you in it….even if you do, so often piss me off.
But it’s been a good and vigorous conversation. Let’s keep it up!

Happy Birthday!!!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes and good tidings, everyone. You help keep it going with all your comments and tips. Please keep them coming.
Geminis, I should have known..
Happy birthday, it’s been three impressive years.
Happy Birthday, Heraldo!

One would hope that as a 3yr old you would star your potty training. Good luck.
“START” not star. But if you can make that step in maturity, then you will be a star.
Anything you say 7:56
There was a lot of goodwill here….well until about 8:00 PM
That was an attempt at humor.
