Another local paper weighs in on the CAB scandal

We understand and generally support borrowing to help advance public education — but with more conventional bond devices, featuring more reasonable rates.

The Legislature should consider banning CABs, a step that, so far, only one state — Michigan — has taken. But it seems fairly evident that, when the huge payout numbers are explained, more lawmakers will see the need to curb school districts’ appetite for acquiring debilitating debt.

The paper’s not local to Humboldt, I’m afraid.  Just local.  The Times-Standard is on it, though.  You can set your watch by it.
