DEA says rumors are false

Drug Enforcement Agency spokeswoman Casey McEnry told KMUD news reporter Cynthia Elkins that rumors of a crack-down on indoor marijuana grow operations in the Arcata/Eureka area are not true.

McEnry said the DEA routinely works in Mendocino and Humboldt counties, and will be conducting fly-over trainings next week in Northern Mendocino. The DEA will be working with the Mendo County Sheriffs, she said.

“It’s not some surge operation on the part of the DEA,” McEnry said. “It’s business as usual for us.”

McEnry said the trainings may bring a few more agents than usual to the area, and may cross the Humboldt County line.

The DEA is all over Willits right now. And Eureka seems like an odd place to be staging some 200 agents for operations in northern Mendo. Could be recon for next year though. Or they’re outright lying…

When I heard about the agents at the Red Lion, I laughed at the poor sap. He looked genuinely concerned so I offered to go to the Red Lion and see if there were 50 suburbans in the parking lot. I went there and booked a room with no problem. I saw no suburbans in the mostly empty parking lot and no people that looked remotely like DEA agents. All families and older folks. I stuck around for a while and saw nothing to indicate a large number of any type of group.

It is a very funny rumour and I really have enjoyed watching it spread.

Well I guess then someone needs to Tell Fox News…they are the ones that reported it. Funny thing is the day of the reports Arcata Police Chief is conveniently “out-of-office” for a few days…..The Arcata Police Chief invited the DEA here to “help” with the grow house issue. For the DEA to say that it is not some sort of surge is a flat out lie. I listened to the news and the one guy from the DEA said..and I quote… “It’s high time we enforce the Federal law there.” Haha he made a funny using the word high…isn’t he just clever. if you want to amend prop 215, you’ll need to convince 50% +1 of california voters.

since it was an initiative passed by the people, the legislature doesn’t get to amend it. they tried that with some of the provisions of senate bill 420, such as putting into place a statewide limit of 6 flowering plants per patient.

that was recently overturned in court on the grounds that the legislature was, in effect, taking away rights that the people voted themselves. lawmakers have a lot of power, but don’t get to overturn a vote by the people – we the people get the last word, not our elected officials. that’s what ballot propositions (initiative and referendum) are all about…direct democracy.

the legislature had decades to come up with a medical marijuana policy, and they stalled, bickered, and never came to an agreement. if they had crafted a good law in the first place, the people wouldn’t have had to go around them with a proposition. they blew it, now it is out of their hands, and in the capable hands of california voters.

so if you want to overturn or revise the basic rights granted by prop 215, you’ll have to get a new proposition passed by the voters.

Here’s what I know about the PG&E side….their policy towards spotted grow houses was to just turn your eye and ignore it. That changed in the last month or so, it changed so that PG&E can turn in any house they suspect being a grow house. Then in this last week, I was told that there are federal agents here in town and that PG&E has been court ordered to hand over all records of 215 users who have “high” electricity usage. The person that told me all this works for PG&E and no reason to lie.

United States never held any municipal sovereignty, jurisdiction, or right of soil in Alabama or any of the new states which were formed … The United States has no Constitutional capacity to exercise municipal jurisdiction, sovereignty or eminent domain, within the limits of a state or elsewhere, except in the cases in which it is expressly granted …
    [Pollard v. Hagan, 44 U.S.C. 213, 221, 223]

They are coming in by contract, not by legal jurisdiction. These people would be charged for a victimless crime, victimless crimes lack Subject Matter Jurisdiction. Challenge it! They have to address it and prove it if it’s brought up and SMJ can only be obtained by the testimony of a competent witness who was harmed. That is what’s required to invoke the courts jurisdiction. Void these bogus judgements for lack of smj. This is no statute of limitations on SMJ. Even if it’s an old ancient charge on your record. Look it up.

    still nothing it seems.
i think the paranoia hit me hard today,
though in scouring the net this evening,
i haven’t found one substantiated claim of a raid of any kind on someones home.
i did hear a story my friend told me today that consisted of federal agents entering a home that had recently harvested, but had nothing leftover, so the feds left.
i question the validity of his source though,
considering that happened on saturday, and the raids were scheduled for the 22nd-30th.
    in any case,
    best of luck,
    and maybe it’d be the best idea to adopt the ostrich syndrome for this week;
bury your head in the sand and it will disappear.
    maybe not though.

I love this place because of the fact that most of the citizens resist the rise of the Empire….. Until now.

That being said I have noticed a few comments following both articles accusing the author of this site with fishing for traffic.
…. but why, I don’t see any advertising, so why push so hard for traffic?

You may not like the story but a simple check to the homepage to look for ad links would have kept me and all the other readers from having to sift through baseless comments.

That being said, I have been here for 7 years now, and seen a lot of different situations, but I have only seen one firearm in the hands of a grower. It was a shotgun that looked like something my Grandfather would hunt with.

For those of you hoping that the Feds show up, remember that if they spend our tax dollars on situations like this, that money won’t be spent on finding solutions to REAL problems. I do agree that the sub-culture should police it self, and maybe that’s what this scare is: An intelligent way to weed out those who would tuck tail and run. If so I would like to point out that it will have the same effect as gun control. Following this only those who were willing to be “outlaws” before Prop 215 will remain, and we will all have lost more privacy, and personal freedom by being so willing to let the Feds come in and trample our rights.

Wondering where the spirit of community that drew me here has gone???
