Sweet! I live here on purpose. “Hooked on Humboldt” nails one of the many reasons why.

These guys do consistently entertaining and effective work. And they do hit the nail on the head.

Not to be “that guy” ,but does anyone else find it offensive that people make jokes about a topic as serious as addiction? Real addicts are sad and pathetic. They need our help, and treatment, not to constantly be made the butt of the joke.

Just a pet peeve of mine.

Even those with substance issues have a sense of humor. They are addicts not learning disabled (an even those who are LD have senses of humor about themselves and the world they live in.)

Before I saw the tree I would have bet money it was going to be a bud.

Go to Hooked on Humboldt’s web site, 69er.

I would have taken that bet, Percy. I’ve met people who say they thought the photos they’d seen of our redwoods were fake so that’s when I knew it would be redwoods. It’s hard to convince people that trees that big exist. Most people (not you of course) would first think of porn.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but do these ads air anywhere besides the internet?

  17. March 9, 2011 at 10:58 am

I think that I will never see
Some porn as lovely as a tree!

You would think they would do it about POT. And after you are hooked on Humboldt brand POT, you get into other stuff like Afgani HEROIN!!!

Thanks PJ, Just downloaded it and will ssee if I can entice some visitors. Had a tree farmer from the deep south here a few years back and took him north to the parks and all he wanted to do was get his hands on a saw. He came back the next year and brought people with him, 3 car loads and they were big spenders. He grows pine for pulp mills.

Mouse gives this one a BIG chunk of cheese!
It has all the elements; the setup, the….get ready for it….., and the final sudden changing of the subject. Meant to mislead ’til the very end. Very nice!

Has anyone voted for Eureka on the national trust for historic preservation site? Unfortunately we are in last place. A few days left to vote. The site is kind of hard to get into. The Chamber of Commerce hides the Historic architecture in the residential neighborhoods. We need some you tube film like this about the victorian architecture. Without the help of the visitors center and COC. They would only screw things up.
