Quote of the week

“One day last week I popped in to visit Mama X, raid the fridge and do some laundry, just like any 40-year-old social worker in Humboldt.” — Local blogger Kristabel illustrates the consequences of failing to decide to be successful like Warren Buffett.

Cry me a river. At least she has a job.

The job itself should be compensation enough! Only the selfish want a living wage.

Mark me as clueless here, I’ve no idea what this is about. I don’t usually read that blog, reading it now really confused me. I’m guessing its one of those “Humboldt” things, like how to pronounce Buhne.

I think it is suggesting that our ‘overpaid’ teachers and government workers migh be in danger of reaching “poverty Level” if we’re not careful. Heaven help us if we ever start paying ’em what they’re worth!
They might start thinking they belong to the “Middle Class” and then where would we be?
Whips and short rations, that’s the answer!

most social workers are not people who decided to not be successful like warren buffet. they are people who were/are incapable of success like warren buffet. because a large amount of people possess the skills to be social workers, their skill-set is not highly valued and thus their pay reflects this. despite their relatively low pay, if they managed their money right and only bought the necessity, my guess is they could go without mooching off their mother’s food, electricity, and laundry room.

Oh no, Teacher is much more clever than a moocher, Teacher goes to the Food Bank. Perhaps Teacher flushed out as a Social Worker… it is not as easy as you say it is.

Oh, and quit kissing Mr. Buffet’s ass, he ain’t gonna pay you.
