Baykeeper bash sold out

Despite continued attempts by Security National spokesdude Randy Gans to drag the name of Humboldt Baykeeper through the mud, tickets to the group’s Earthday Bash sold out days before tonight’s event.

Happy Earth Day.

Thanks for the support everyone! And for those who couldn’t get tix, we’ll bring these folks back soon! Happy Earthday! We have a lot to celebrate!

Expect to see postings here calling for an investigation into how these attendees came to have discretionary money to purchase Baykeeper tickets. Their names should be publicized too. Why are they choosing anonymity?

Something must be amiss, because people who are reputably in possession of discretionary funds would be using them to go only to the Republican awards event at the Ingomar Club.

Congrats to Baykeeper on a well-deserved party. The nonsanctioned ticket prices should be flattering to all involved.

Happy Earth Day indeed. If only Baykeeper gave a shit about the planet. $$$$$ signs are what motivate Pete

Heraldo, I am curious if you know the Arkleys? I don’t mean anything by it. I am just wondering if your dislike for them is more personal or more political?

Good thing Rob isn’t interested in money, Dancing.

Forty bucks for a dinner and dance is nothing these days. This is a fund raiser ,old school style. The lovers of this planet will carry on just as before and likely will continue until we get it right.

Gotta move fast, HiFi. Baykeeper has a LOT of support!

    Baykeeper: many small contributors.

Hum Crppr/help(us get rich)/humboldt sunshine (blowing up your skirt): a few big, powerful, rich financers with greedy, vested personal interests.

The power of selfish greed and the megalomania of the those who value themselves over all has ruined this country.

Thanks to Baykeeper for standing up to selfish power in defense of us all.

    Kind of like Larry Glass?

OK, I verymuch suport BayKeeper and I also absolutely love DMT. I have seen them maybey six times.

I also like the AQ, but I am very bummed at the event last night.

DMT was billed as the headliner. I wasn’t able to be there for the dinner, but I still got a ticket to see the band.

But you switched it on me. I got there right as DMT should have taken over the stage, but insted I missed them and saw Absynth. What the hell? If that is how you were going to have the night go, you should have indicated it on the flyer. I basicly spent $75 for three of us to not get see the band.

    I am miffed actually.

    Have you consider suing them?

    LOL, no…

I mean, I don’t mind eally donating $75 to baykeeper. I just think that the wway the show was handled was very lame.

Isn’t Hank Sims going to threaten to investigate all the ticket buyers as suspected pot growers, “because they have so much time on their hands”?

Or is that just if they ask him questions he doesn’t want to hear?

I think it is a father justified complaint and I think I delivered it in a respctful manner.

If that is a problem, whatever.

Baykeeper is a good org that I support. Pete pulled a bone head move by switching the line up. It is simply dumb thing to do. I have been informed that it was so the folks that came for dinner and wanted to leave could see DMT. Fine, but bill it that way.

Dinner was long over before DMT got on stage. I don’t think Absynth played until 10:30 or so. What time did you get there?

Sorry about the miscommunication re: line up, but it was billed a complete event and DM3 played from 8:30- 10:00. If you want a refund, let me know. it was a great event overall, our biggest yet, and we appreciate all of the support. Thanks to all involved!

No refund necessary, thank you. I do support you guys.

But, dude, the headliner plays last. That is just how it is done. If you do something else, you should put it on the poster. the switch meant some folks didn’t see DMT. I am sure you didn’t mean for that to happen, that is what happens when you switch lineups.

That is all, just saying… good night

I understand that one might assume that the headliner should play last but I think that having DMT play from 8:30 – 10:00 was great. For those of us who were there for dinner, by the end of their set, (and their set was amazing!) we had been there for 4 hours and lots of us were ready to go home.

One of the problems I have with Passion Presents shows are that the headliner often doesn’t play until 10:30 – 11:00 and on a weeknight for a working stiff, that just doesn’t work.

But I think it would have been a great idea to put it on the poster. I have seen better organized events than this one, but still had a great time.

    What is up Pete Nichols?
Baykeeper, our coastal resources are being pillaged by faux enviros, Manila now has a compromised primary dune, threatening a protected Coastal Act wetland. On the hind-dunes the fauxs pulled vegetation to such an extent that the forest died. What is the party about and where does the money go? Lies and pretense killed our forest, and now a destabilized foredune!

You will miss a lot of great shows by skipping the opening act…

    April 25, 2011 at 12:51 pm

Agreed 10:15. Have heard a lot of great bands in opening positions. Still, if you want to hear the “opening” band, you can stay and hear them after the headliner if you want. Nothing is preventing that.
