He’s baaaaaack

Years after the fall of 299 Opine, Ross Rowley (aka Ekovox) has returned with a new blog, this time with a partner, Ms. Sterious.  Together they are “The Editors” and the focus is on (what else) Humboldt County.

Give it a click.

Rowley explained in an email:

We are posting on this blog as Blog Editors Spence and Kate in reference to the Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn’s style of on-screen playful combat.  From Wikipedia:  “Hepburn and Spencer Tracy were at their most seductive when their verbal fencing was sharpest: it was hard to say whether they delighted more in the battle or in each other.”

The “Above The Fold” moniker is an obvious reference to newspapers and how editors use the upper graphic portion of the front of the paper to attract attention thus placing the big stories of the day in that slot.   It’s ultimately a fun way to portray a blog.

When you go there, just try to be sensitive to his anonymity.

I didn’t know who was “Behind the Fold” but I really liked the way it was set-up (theme) and it’s a new Humboldt Blog…so what the heck?
I’ve linked the author(s) to mine.

Yawwwn…. When I first read Ekovox, I found his reminisces of growing up in Willow Creek to be interesting. But, the more I read, the more I realized this guy was just another chauvinistic “I grew up here… you didn’t; therefore, you are inherently inferior”-type of fellow. It gets old fast. Also, his suspicion of newcomers has an apparent side-effect of making him myopic to the corruption and rot of the good ol’ boys whom he relentlessly celebrates. Guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
