Stacey Lawson meet & greet

Stacy Lawson, candidate for the 2nd Congressional District of California, will be in Eureka Sunday.

Wasn’t Matt Owen and Virginia Bass supposed to also be hosting a meet and greet for her? I believe it was both for her and well known nanny- stater, Jared Huffman. Thought I received an e-mail from Matt about something along that line but can’t find it now.

    Another auction candidate.

Fred Mangels is a joke! I will support whichever candidate he dislikes the most because that probably means they are the most qualified.

Your name calling is pathetic and juvenile-and I’ sure there are a few that could be pulled out of the closet for you, Fred.

It’s not every day that a girl growing up in a “modest trucking co.” graduates with a Harvard MBA.

It’s fun to watch all the candidates weave around the landmines of economic class to win votes.

I’m tempted to attend just to poke around the Zanone estate…that and I’m clueless about this candidate and could stand to learn a little something.

Why are there so many progressive candidates? Is it always like this in this district?

Walt- By progressive, do you mean the dictionary definition?

favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, especially in political matters?

It sounds like you don’t favor improvement?

Like Matt and Virgina we doing, we are opening our home for meet and greet to allow voters to get to know the candidates. No endorsement implied.

But this is a good way to get to know a candidate and ask questions. You are welcome to our home on Sunday and to “poke around the Zanone estate”. I will even show you the beer cellar.

Scott: my question had no spin. It just seems odd to have seven democrats running against each other. The Gingrich Republican I would expect, but I’d think the liberals would get together and pick one among themselves so they didn’t all self-destruct. Here’s an easy list:

Susan Adams, RN, Marin Co. Supervisor
    Andy Caffrey, Humboldt Co, Green-leaning
William Courtney, MD, cannabis researcher, advocate
Jared Huffman, Assemblyman, Attorney for the NRDC
    Stacey Lawson, Harvard MBA, entrepreneur
Tiffany Renee, Petaluma City Council, web development firm
    Norman Soloman, activist, author
and the Republican: Dan Roberts, ties to Newt, investment adviser

    Candidate Courtney sounds interesting!

Matt and Virginia are having Susan Adams and Jared Huffman this weekend I believe. Why is this happening on play off week end? I want to hear what they have to say but not bad enough to miss a football game.

It’s confusing to have several good candidates like Susan, Lacey, Norman, and Jared. Maybe we could get at least one of them to move here to run for city council! It’s too bad that two of them will end up competing for the seat. As a Progressive, I still feel compelled to note that this system denies the minority party any voice in the election. I’m pretty sure we’ll have 2 Dems running here with no Rep or green voice while in some district somewhere there will be 2 Reps running. Forget the Greens and other small parties. They get no seat at the table. It’s a lousy system!

Ms. Lawson did very well for herself last night. At least that’s the pundit post-game analysis.
