Good thing he’s a democrat. Any decent republican would get off.

Shed no tears for this guy. He was a producer of child porn, not some impulsive guy who downloaded an image.

Cole didn’t have many supporters before. In fact, he had no real close friends, just many acquaintances.

Cole is an intelligent guy who is the product of a troubled childhood. Both his parents had drug addictions and his mother was homeless for some time.

Cole pled guilty as part of a plea bargain. He had no money, so he couldn’t fight the charges.

This is not a happy story. Anyone who revels in this is much sicker than Cole is.

BS 10:07. Have you never heard the phrase, “If you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed at no cost?” In federal court defendants get better representation than in state courts because federal defenders have a lighter case load. Using his parent’s addiction and housing situation to excuse him being a predatory monster is crazy.

BS back to you, Jane. The rich get off these things. The poor end up with 27 years in prison.

If you don’t think a messed up childhood can affect someone adversely, then you’re crazy.

Everyone has a choice Anon, even ones who have a rough life. Those who have had a very bad childhood can make better decisions & choose to live a decent life.

I don’t care why he turned into a monster. I’m just glad he won’t be hurting little kids anymore.

You seem to be trying to defend him from opposing angles. “He had to plead guilty because he’s poor” v. “It’s not his fault he turned into a predatory monster.” He hurt little kids and made child pornography, exploiting them over and over. Life in prison wouldn’t be too long.

“He had to plead guilty because he’s poor” v. “It’s not his fault he turned into a predatory monster.”

Huh? Who are you quoting PJ? No one here posted those words. Are you summing up or paraphrasing? If so, you shouldn’t use quotes, troll.

I used the quotes to delineate between your 2 arguments, but you’re right – I was paraphrasing your contradictory defenses. Inaccurately?

A recent study indicates that statistical outcomes for defendants represented by the public defender v. private counsel are equal (New York Times, 2011). In fact, many private attorneys ask public defenders for information and advice due to the exposure to case that public defenders have. Public defenders practice only criminal defense and have a caseload that exposes them to many more issues than a private attorney will ever see. Had this person wanted to fight the charges, money would not be the issue, federal defenders are very good. More than likely he recieved and offer he couldn’t/shouldn’t refuse.

Cole is a total attention whore. Essentially everything he did was creepy. He got under a lot of people’s skin. He intentionally had his picture taken with every politician and then put it on his Facebook. His slimey need for attention and recognition from those in power is disgusting. I would have to admit his attempt to make a living selling pre-paid legal was hilarious.

how many ppl have been raised in horrible, abusive homes and/or were sexually preyed upon? why do such a relatively few number of people went on to sexually abuse? the op who said we all make choices speaks the truth. these child abusers need to be kept away from children.

How can anybody but, another child molester defend sexual exploitation and child porn. Anybody defending this guy for whatever reason is twisted or trying to justify their actions of the same. What about the victims. What about the deep sorrow felt for these kids. If I walked in on someone like Sandowski he probably wouldn’t have lived through it. Stealing something like a life from a child is inexcusable. Every child molester that gets sent to prison says “It happened to me” Then you know how that felt, why would you ever hurt someone else like you got hurt. there is no rehab for a pedophile and they all find the lord.

Machado is in jail and kids are safe from him. Too bad we’re surrounded with so many dope peddlers who sell dope to kids. Nobody says a word about it. Dope ruins kids lives too.

The guy did some crime and is convicted to a long sentence. What else is there to talk about? There is no evil, and no reason to dump your anger at the world into some perceived crime that is worse than others. 27 years, that’s serious time. He’s a person, not a “monster.” The world turns out all kinds of shitheads, just be glad you’re not one of them, and if you were one of them, consider how you’d prefer to be treated. Plain Jane’s tone is vile and unnecessary.

Your defense of this child predator is what is vile and unnecessary, Jailtime. You might “perceive” all crimes as equal but most people don’t have a problem recognizing that some crimes are more vile than others, probably why we have different punishments to fit them.

It is true that rich people tend to get off more than poor people. But Cole didn’t plead guilty because he didn’t have a good attorney. His attorney was quoted in the press release and tried to get the best deals for him. I remember people talking about how it was probably 18 year olds dressed up to “look young.,” This is apologizing for child rape, and child sexual abuse. Child porn is about children being raped and selling it (or trading it) to others for profit. Cole pled guilty to one count because he is guilty. If you were arrested for enticing two children to have sex, photographing it and giving it to someone else, would you EVER PLEAD GUILTY?
Although many child rapists were sexually abused as children, they still have a choice as adults. There are tons of mentally ill people, poor people, homeless people and vicitms of child sexual abuse who never make the choice to rape a child.
And raping someone is much worse than giving or selling them drugs. Raping and torturing children is vile.

Vile are you serious? Maybe you are a molester and want people to treat you as a person. People who do this should be treated like a serious criminal in many cases they are really taking a life from someone, maybe not with a bullet but,I bet many of the victims are feeling dead inside. There is NO reason to defend this! PERIOD.

  25. January 24, 2012 at 4:27 pm

Yeah lock this creepy bastard up and throw away the key! I hope he never gets out! As far as I’m concerned, this guy has forfeited his right to walk around in civilized society. He could have gotten help. If he’s so damaged he can;t be helped then he’s going exactly where he belongs.I consider locking this guy up a good use of my tax dollars.

In my opinion his sentence wasnt harsh enough. I have zero tolerance for predator types, no matter what form they take, but especially toward children. I think that these child molesters and child sex offenders should be executed, or at least castrated. There is no way to heal or rehab someone like this. It is a deep stemming issue in the fibers of their being. Its like a serial murderer. No one can rehab a serial murderer, they are that way deep down inside and nothing can change that. Death penalty for all child sex offenders!

I am very troubled by thre commernt that Cole had no money for an attorney and had to plea bargain. He was guilty of child porn charges, which means he watched children get raped. Many people with troubled childhoods make the decision not to sexually abuse, rape, or collect, arrange or disserminate child porn (which is watch children being raped.
