Lovelace fundraiser in Blue Lake Sunday

[Campaign announcement]

Come meet 3rd District Supervisor Mark Lovelace this Sunday at the Mad River Brewery Taproom in Blue Lake!

Blue Lake is now a part of the 3rd District, and Mark has been out walking door-to-door and getting to know the community. This free event gives an opportunity to stop by and meet Mark and talk about those Blue Lake issues that are important to you.

The Pilot Rock Ramblers will be playing bluegrass and country music, and there will be light food from Cypress Grove, Brio and others. And, of course, the taproom will be pouring all of your favorite Mad River beers!

There is no charge to get in, but please bring your checkbook to help support Mark’s re-election campaign!

I didn’t support him when he first ran, but he has proven to be a top-notch Supervisor. He’s a real asset to the Board of Supes.

What’s he done besides spend other peoples money?

Sorry HUFUC, I pay my taxes and I pay my dues, but I can’t pay attention for you.

    Let me translate AA;

“I don’t know what Lovelace has done HUUFC, but he looks pretty on TV what with his suite & tie and all”

At first i thought it said ” Mad river brewery Tampon ” .

  7. March 25, 2012 at 1:54 pm

You’re not much of a translator, HiFi. And I’d ask you to list your grievances with Supervisor Lovelace, but I learned in our last exchange that you do not answer questions. Luckily for you, you have Labtech to help not answer them for you.

Sorry I guess I wasen’t clear in my earlier post so let me repeat.

What’s he done besides spend other peoples money?

  9. March 25, 2012 at 2:30 pm

Well HUUFC, since you’re not ambitious enough to find out for yourself: He fields questions from constituents, attends meetings, serves on committees and various public-concern groups to discuss county issues, he makes decisions and votes on issues of administration and policy, helps to oversee the county’s budget and amends it as necessary, seeks and lobbies for grant funding, etc.

So take your simple-minded bullshit over to Fred’s blog, where it will get the audience it deserves.

Oh dry up Joel, I have no grievance with Lovelace.

Considering he represents Arcata he could have been much worse.

  11. March 25, 2012 at 3:05 pm

“…he could have been much worse.”

    On that matter we agree.

    Most typecasting HiFi?

Mark represents Myrtletown, Cutten, Indianola, Bayside, Freshwater, Kneeland, and now Blue Lake as well as Arcata.

And BTW isn’t Arcata where Robin Arkley the elder lived? Don’t Lee Ulansey and Jerry Partain live in the 3rd district? Seems that being represented by Mark is a factor making the 3rd a good place for people(including conservatives) to live.

Now if Eureka is becoming such a “hellhole” perhaps the supervisor of that district bears some responsibility. Now who would that be????

    March 25, 2012 at 4:05 pm

Use your head NAN, the voters in Arcata far outnumber the rest of that district.

And Mark’s district only includes a tiny part of Myrtletown and does not include Cutten.

While only Virginia represents Eureka (Jimmy a part of it) all five vote on matters representing it. All five bear responsibility for the travesty happening at the Courthouse.

  14. March 25, 2012 at 4:28 pm

This is a word for all of you Democrats and the Democrats on the Board of Supervisors.

If you pass this un-American repression of free speech you will be outlawing the kind of expression that you saw in Wisconsin last fall. All of you union members and your rights will be sold out if this passes.

Who are these supes working for anyway? I guess we will find out on tuesday.

    have a peaceful day,
    Bill

    I agree with Bill.
    Smart Democrats will
vote/error on the side of the poor/dispossessed.
I support the Occupiers and I despise
    fascists- in every form.

Once upon a time I sent supervisor Lovelace a letter regarding a number of well-documented concerns for our Bayside neighborhood. I was seeking his assistance, and certainly was seeking some of that open-minded dialog he goes knocking on potential voters’ doors to provide. Lovelace did not write back. I called him weekly for over 9 weeks, reminding him of the letter and desire to communicate. After 9 phone messages to him, he sent me a vague 2 sentence email, said my concerns were “certainly well-documented”. No call back. No dialog. No representation. He is not so hot at doing his job. Good at campaigning.

Joel, I am not HiFi but I have a list of grievances
for Mr. Lovelace. In Manila where Mark has sent hundreds of thousands
of wetland enhancing dollars- that have been spent, resulting
    in many of our
wetlands no longer able to function. The money was used
fraudulently, the proof is in the erosion, the dead conifers
and the soon to be salted marsh.
The Bowl just west of the
Community Center, acre upon acre that showed to be a rich
forest community in the 1947 Schuster aerial (HSU) is being
“RESTORED” to a moving dune, picture Mojave.
Where is the logic? These back-dunes are ancient forms,
and being coastal sand dunes they are considered Cowardin wetlands,
the most precious resource in the natural systems- more rare and depleted than old-growth redwood forest.
It is an easy walk to witness and there are still some trees hanging-on, sickest ‘restoration’ I’ve seen in my lifetime. Mr. Lovelace?

    Too bad for you.

    THERE YOU GO AGAIN DAN..
FINDING SOMONE ,ANYONE (WHO DOES NOT SEE THINGS “YOUR WAY”), TO BLAME FOR THIS THAT AND THE OTHER. HOW FOOLISH TO THINK THAT LOVELACE IS AT FAULT FOR YOUR INTERPRETATION OF WHAT HAPPENS NATURALLY ON MOVING DUNES AND WETLANDS.

Who are these supes working for anyway?

Lovelace works for corporate environmentalism, the one percent and his big ego. He collects the big bucks and thinks he is a big man.

Lovelace is completely deaf to anything he does not already believe. Like Gogord Gram describes, he shuts out pesty people who lay out inconvenient facts. Lovelace has become the new Jill Duffy on the board of supes.

    What crap- Stephan at 10.08.
Those trees that are dead due to Lovelace’s
lack of understanding and greed for grants are
protected by The Local Coastal Plan, The Coastal Act
and the Long-Term Management Plan. Naturally occurring
and native- now dead due to terminal lies and backwards
thinking. Lovelace is a an out and out enviro-fraud, so are you. Nice Clubhouse!

Anon 10:49 you have NO IDEA where Mark’s campaign funding comes from. It’s public knowledge, easy to get. I doubt if you’ll see many or any contributions that are very big or from “corporate anything”.

Dan, if I was a Supe and you kept yelling at me, “the sky is BLUE! Do something about it”, I doubt I would waste much time on you either. I don’t expect my Supe to be Superman (or Woman). Mark does a competant job and that’s what I’m looking for.

  25. Hey hey Marky boy
    March 27, 2012 at 10:42 pm

Hey, BIG Guy! Noticed you scored a point with your “liberal” constituents today. Easy stuff. Cast the 1 vote against when you know the other 4 are for. Sharp Stuff, Sharp hair. U the Man!

The ordinance, got voted in with no skin off the spineless Less of Love.

I am not saying the sky is blue.
I am saying that there is a dead wetlands and
many dead trees due to fraudulent spending
of Prop 20 monies, Marks’ name is all over it.
But then you could get off your anonymouse ass
and go see Marks “competence” for yourself.
Start at the Manila Overlook, if your stomach is still
intact, check-out the disaster unfolding on the foredunes.
This is Marks’ gift to the next generation, a desert where there was a forest. Friend of the dunes, my ass.
