Loleta Bakery is an absolute treasure! I don’t spend a lot of time in Loleta, but when I have reason to be there I am rarely able to resist the temptation to stop by the bakery. I think at this point I’ve tried just about every one of their regular items, and quite a few of their specials…and I’ve never been disappointed — not even once!
I raise the same issue I have raised in the past and look forward to the next disclosure by Seidner to see if she claims the value for the advertizing on this blog. Since there is a direct link to her web site, it is not a third party ad and is disclosable with name address and employer. FPPC will love this one.
I voted for Cheryl by mail already. She really has Rex on the run. Word is he’s buying MORE signs. Vote for Cheryl, puhleez.
Cheryl is not going to win. Thank God. Know nothing prog candidate, You can blow all the wind you want, she is not going to overcome the fact she has no real experience or qualifications. Oh, except an honorary doctorate degree from a school that has no doctorate level programs.
“no real experience or qualifications.”
And Rex’s qualifications for the highest elected office in the county? Funny how Eureka’s elite are so quick to support this surrogate who has been repeatedly rejected by the voters. He’s a good ol boy who has bounced around between several jobs and never shown much leadership or intellect, other than a willingness to volunteer for every lemonade stand in the county.
Don’t let Eureka’s elite dictate the supervisors for the rest of the county!
So 12 years as the elected Chief of her tribe and the negotiation reinstating Indian Island to its rightful owners doesn’t count as “real experience or qualifications”? A lot of us disagree, Mr. Dick. Or Mr.Wad. Whatever.
Don’t forget—Rex was for the CalPine fiasco! Enough said.

Hate to break it to you, but this election is already over.
And would someone for once tell the truth in Heraldoville.
The only reason Rex is putting out more yard signs is his supporters keep asking for more.
“…repeatedly rejected by the voters”
Considering Rex has only run for office once before, unlike what Julie Timmons wrote in her letter to the editor, not sure your definition of “repeatedly” is.
Rex was not for Cal Pine. The former Mayor (LaVallee) who has been repeatedly rejected by the voters, must be confused in his old age. That or he lied in his letter to the editor when he wrote, “He (Rex) brought in signatures of support for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on our bay.” Only problem is, that never that happened.
Let’s not forget the Cheryl so loved her sacred Wiyot Indian Island she wanted to turn it into a casino. It’s public record she approached the City of Eureka on that issue.
See ya’ll at Rex’s election night party.
Rex was not for CalPine? Where did you get this info?
Rex’s signs are on rentals. Landlords love him. One more good reason to vote Cheryl Seidner for Supervisor…
big box on the bay or casino on the island…boo to both candidates.
“The only reason Rex is putting out more yard signs is his supporters keep asking for more.”
Yes, his supporters in Eureka (outside of the 1st district).
If you love Newman, Brady, and Jager, you’ll really like Rex. Because like the others he will bring jobs and clean up Eureka – oh, wait, that never happened with the others. The Balloon Track sits empty as do store fronts in the downtown. Rex will make the call and continue with that fine tradition.
The casino-on-the-island thing is a lie. Show up tomorrow night and you can ask Cheryl yourself.
“The casino-on-the-island thing is a lie.”
I hope so. Like karen brook’s and the NCJ writer’s bullshit about lovelace and smartmeter’s, knowing the subject instantly decides the vote.
A visitor from out of the area commented that the overwhelming presence of Bohn signs looked like an excess of money which suggests his funders are trying to buy the election.
Here’s some good info about the island preservation project:
http://www.wiyot.com/tuluwat-project
thanks for the link, smiley. Totally off topic, but isn’t it disgusting how natural space and ancestral lands have to be PURCHASED to be preserved…otherwise to be razed, paved and become another resource consuming plot of pollution.
just middle class at 7:28 am .
Hey, about a month ago (April 7th) you claimed you’d be filing something with the FPPC regarding Heraldo posting something for Cheryl. Talk, talk, talk. All this talk is great for the Blogosphere, but when are you going to actually do something besides hate on Heraldo?
“just middle class said: April 7, 2012 at 12:44 pm
“Since this blog is placing an ad for Cheryl and it does not have the required “paid for by” then it is a donation by the “owners” of this blog and is reportable as a campaign donation….I will be asking the FPPC to rule on this. Should be interesting.”
I just heard a rumor that Rex HATES string beans. Is it true? Who knows but let’s say it anyway. That’s the tactic used above about Cheryl. No truth, just supposed rumor. Don’t let tyhe facts screw you up.
If you haven’t already, vote for Cheryl Seidner. She’ll represent you, not just the big money.
The balloon track property isn’t sitting empty. It’s got logs sitting on the precious “wetlands.”
What about rex and his drug issues…Does that matter in this race?
You’re a credit to Heraldo, 5:04.
Seems to me anonymous’s are the only posters that are not directly linked to a web-page.
It’s not a big deal.
It’s interesting that dirty politics and those phony front-group mailers returned with Rex Bohn’s campaign!
You’d think Bohn would have already been shamed in his 2004, $125,000 flop for city council when an attorney in Sacramento (aka: “Eureka Coalition For Jobs”), spent tens of thousands on a media blitz for Bohn.
Looks like our local “community” media is throwing Bohn a bone this time around.
What “phony front-group mailers”? Please elaborate.
There was Lee Ulansey orchestrating the phony phone calls. What were the mailers like?
Propaganda, its what this blog does best.
Once Bohn’s deep-pocket fliers are exposed, the excuses for them will begin.
Humboldt’s corrupt politics run deep.
