Humboldtistan Daily News

An alert reader informed us of another Humboldt blog, the Humboldtistan Daily News.  Despite its name the updates are less than daily, but that hardly matters in the Internet world of RSS

The blogger at HDN, appropriately named Spider Mite, posted a humorous tale called Reggae On The Rubicon:

Today I went south, over the border into Mendocinostan to do some work for a friend. While the trip went without incident, I had to be extremely alert while traversing the border region. The area has been the scene of recent conflict. Regaeishmir, a tribal territory on the north side of the border has been trying to fend off a hostile annexation attempt by the People of Dimikisbad, just to the south. After a bitter struggle, is seems that the Mateelians of Regaeishmir have temporarily conceded, though they have vowed to reorganize and take back the resources that many, or possibly a majority of, Humboldtistanis believe are rightly theirs.

This is actually funny and appropriately dark. Thanks for passing it on, this is the Swiftian stuff Reggae Warrior gets way too much credit for. I like how Spider Mite drifts between his ‘imaginary’ and real worlds too, even inside his psyche. Hot shit!

Reggae Warrior can take his so-called reggae war elsewhere. Most people in Humboldt don’t give a damn.

Glad you liked my post. Someone oughtta send it to Fred and Owl before Friday to see if they’ll debate it on Thank Jah. Then I can listen and write something that makes fun of of them too. I don’t have their emails or I’d send it.

Anyway, check back in on Humboldtistan Daily News in the next couple of days. I’ve got some more satirical takes on “The Reggaeishmir Question” coming up when I get a spare minute to write them.
