Brian Morrissey is leaving Security National

Dear friends, co-workers and colleagues –

As some of you already know, my last day will be October 3rd. I will miss the many colleagues and friends that I have at SN. I have enjoyed working on the the diverse projects and programs such as the Marina Center – it will always be one of the defining projects in my life.

I want to particularly thank Rob and Cherie Arkley – they were with me and my family in the darkest moments of my cancer treatment and I will be eternally grateful to them for their support at that time.

I hope that many of you will keep in touch. My contact information is:

Brian Morrissey
[redacted]
Elkhorn, NE 68022

I wish all of you the very best future.
-Brian

Heading out just in time for the anticipated Marina Center E.I.R.

Can’t wait to see how they try to brush the obvious traffic fiasco under the rug.

Even if the project gets scrapped, they should find a way to mitigate traffic in that area of Broadway.

It’s called the 101 Bypass … but that idea died in the 80s.

    D’oh.

  3. September 25, 2008 at 1:59 pm

I think it is now called the Harris/Henderson bypass now.

So sorry to hear that Brian went through treatment for cancer. I hope he is O.K.

He seemed like a very nice person.

So what happens to all the Arkley top supporters, friends, some relatives, and higher ups at the company? It seems to be like there is always some sort of blow up and trouble once a person gets close to those people. So there are these holy ones and then after a few years there’s trouble, and then kablooey- they are “not invited to the party no more”, so to speak. I’ve been watching this. Who is the next to go? Where’s the loyalty? I’ve seen some hurt feelings over the years.

  8. September 25, 2008 at 4:21 pm

Brian is a stand-up, decent fellow and we wish he and his family well.

Do you think Randy would lie to the police to help Rob? Oh wait, that’s right, he did.

  13. September 25, 2008 at 6:39 pm

Anyone know what kind of cancer Brian has?

Nice little lie you told right there.

“Nice little lie you told right there.”

It’s common knowledge that Gans was full of it-

You deniers are a sad flock

“I’ll destroy you!” Oprah and Dr. Phil…. how’d you miss that at the checkout line?

Rose is all about the plugs on Heraldo’s blog.

Light on traffic these days Rose?

    Let’s see – PALCO lawsuit – TOSSED

    Cherie Moore Case – TOSSED

    Measure T – INJUNCTION

    Gunderson Rape – Oops – the guy’s a creep – BUT not a rapist

I’d say Rose was all about Champagne toasts these days, 7:47, and by her site counter, I’d say that the traffic is doing just fine.

  19. Anonymous
    September 25, 2008 at 8:21 pm

That counter probably matches Heraldo’s monthly number

Your point being? Traffic? as opposed to being right?

Much as you would hate to admit it 821, Rose has had a pretty good couple of months as far as what’s happened lately.

You deem success the failure of the Humboldt DA? He does represent you too buddy. I’m not proud of him at all. Do you simply assume that I support his failures?

    Sad.

With the Arkleys, people are in, then they’re out (and then maybe back in).
It’s a pattern in all aspects of their life, as 3:37 points out.

Ahh yes, more made-up ruminations about the Arkleys. Wonderful. Tell us more. I’ll go grab a bag of chips.

What about Security National putting it’s headquarters up for sale. Whats up with that? Wasn’t Brian a partner in cue vi, the owner of the balloon track? Is big A severing his ties with many of the LLC’s?

No, 846, I was responding to 747’s snide little aside to Rose. Are you 747, 846?

Rose has spent several years detailing the District Attorney’s shortcomings and has been subject to ad hominem attacks both vicious and benign, (like the one at 747).

That 747(who does seem to be 846) can only offer snarky little rejoinders to her about traffic counts to counter the absolute fact that she got it right with regards to the incompetence of our DA.

So why the snark towards Rose, 747/846? You say that you are saddened by our da’s failings, so why the animus towards Rose?

Wow buddy, talk blowing something out of proportion- I simply noted that Rose was posting the same thing here that she posted on her own blog. NJC’s ticker shows all the current threads.

I think that is funny. I’m sorry you feel so compelled to protect everything Rose.

What’s Rob Arkley’s excuse? Brain cancer?

    September 26, 2008 at 6:35 pm

Brian was recently seen tromping here, there, everywhere all over the Balloon Track, where dioxin is rumored to have been found recently. Now he has cancer.

    Hmmm….

  32. Anonymous

No, He is recovering from Cancer, which he had, and is recovering from, before he “was recently seen tromping…all over the Balloon Track”.

Oh get off it 8:09. Everyone knows cancer imbues a person with super-human powers. If Average Eurekan says Morrissey was seen tromping, you can bet your bottom dollar each tromping step landed with a thunderclap upon our poor poisoned Earth.

  34. average Eurekan
    September 27, 2008 at 1:34 pm

Those tromps were well-documented tromps, captured on the front pages of both the T-S and that in-house Arkley rag, whatever-it’s-called.

As for landing with thunderclaps, that I can’t vouch for. Knowing the sizeable amount of spillage of the industrial solvents they cleaned the freight cars with there, as well as the sticky, gooey Bunker “C” oil that they fueled the locomotives with prior to going to diesel in the 50’s, well, let’s just say that I personally steer clear of the place. And, contrary to what Morrissey went on record of promoting, I believe that Union Pacific (successor to Northwestern Pacific, which handled the bulk of the historic operations at the site), has a moral and legal responsibility to clean up the Balloon Track to the greatest degree practicable.

Keep dreamin’ dude. The only “tromping” is in your head.

  36. Anonymous
    September 27, 2008 at 3:04 pm

Yes Average, we all know that Brian was, is, and remains responsible for all to the pollution added to the balloon tract by Union Pacific, simply by tromping about. Yes, you’ve convinced me!

mmm, so I guess it was just my imagination, runnin away with me, when I saw you talk of brian “tromping” at 9/26 6:35 pm, and again at 9:27 1:34 pm?

My responses were to those, average, hardly changing the subject.

I love the comment that Brian seems like a stand-up guy. If he stood up anymore, he’d be in Rob’s small intestine.

Once again, Rob and Cherie’s kindness and generosity are thoroughly abused.

Yes Rose does a great job of bashing Gallegos, but she also leaves out all of the convictions. That would be the fair way to judge the DA, not to just focus on the two media cases that have been thrown out by judges.
I think he has something like 12 murder convictions. Farmer had 1 in the last 15 years he was in office, so who’s the more successful DA?

    September 30, 2008 at 12:24 am

Brian told us he was committed to what was best for our community, but in fact he just blew town. Don’t trust these carpet baggers, and that included Arkley’s spokesperson for HELP Kay Backer.

Come to think of it, we have not heard much from Kay or anyone at HELP of late. Hmmm, maybe now that their dreams are coming true, and homes are more affordable, that is what they said they want, they don’t want to focus on the need to “build more homes”, as home values crash.

Wasn’t Security National somehow tied in with Lehman Brothers and wouldn’t Lehmans collapse have negative consequences for them?

  44. September 30, 2008 at 7:38 am

12 Murder convictions? Hardly. Any cases he won were prepped by his betters who are now gone. Now you are seeing the real Paul. Flying by the seat of his pants.

Make no mistake – the Debi August case was dismissed because evidence (possibly exculpatory evidence) that was supposed to have been turned over to the defense was not. Her civil right to a fair trial was irreparably damaged.

Douglas and Zanotti – he misrepresented the law and failed to provide exculpatory evidence to the criminal =grand Jury he convened.

Palco – he pursued a case with NO LEGAL MERIT.

Sean Marsh – he went for broke against a Dad whose only crime was not having a leash on his kid.

The real murder – Bridgeville, where he had a witness who not only saw what happened but was also shot – he couldn’t even go for the maximum charge, unlike going for broke against Sean Marsh , he went for the lesser against that guy.

You like him, when he goes back into private practice, YOU hire him.

Somehow, I don’t think you would trust him.
